About Section

I started Residential Frame Carpentry here in Nashville, TN in 1987. After a year I was Lead Carpenter for a handful of small sub-contracting house framing crews. In 1994 I started doing some road work and was soon Foreman for a Frame & Trim Carpentry company and we did a variety of new restaurant builds. McDonald's, Logan's Roadhouse, Steak & Shake's to name a few. I ran crews between 6-15 workers and traveled all over the Eastern US. In 1999 I decided to come in off the road and go in business for myself locally. Being hands on I quickly became adept at all of the trade skills involved in home remodel and home repair. In 2016 I took a Superintendent position for a small contracting firm here in Nashville, TN. Most of the work was contracted through the Nashville International Airport. Working at the airport had it's challenges and there was little appreciation in a job well done so mid 2018 I decided to turn in my letter of resignation. I have been exploring different avenues and locations since then but have now settled on just staying in Nashville and continuing to provide quality and dependable remodeling and repair service to it's residents. The Carpenter Bee is back! I look forward to reaching out to my old clients and securing new ones.

I do hope you consider me for your next project,

James A. Sherwood

I do not sub-contract work

nor will you have random individuals in your home.

My estimates will not be the lowest nor will they be the highest. Doing things the right way takes time and the right product. I will not cut corners or use sub-standard materials on any project. There is the highest likelihood that if you use me once you will never call anyone else ever again.
